Society Forcing Issue

Today the demand for jobs rely on the fact you make that digital jump. If you refuse then you may not have a job for long or may even be demoted, for not getting on board with new technology. As time progresses we will have even greater demands and for a period of time the divide will widen but in years to come we may see the gap get smaller simply due to forcing the issue of technology advances. Something else to ponder!!!!!! What is your feeling on this issue?

On-line Learning

I think divide in the digital world also has to do with being in a comfort zone. I look at all the on-line classes that are now available and some people choose to take them but not me. I like the instructor at a personal level approach. Why -- maybe it is because that is what I am use to. Or could it be I feel the on-line approach as being to cold and impersonal? I have yet to take an on-line class and maybe I just need to try one!!!! Any thoughts?????

Internet Divide

The Internet has been a great tool to help close up the divide. A lot of people who are using the computer as much as they do now, would not even turn on a computer if it were not for using the Internet. As Nano Technology is developed people will have to use the technology because it will be everywhere. I am sure we will see field trips to Denver on a Nano BUS!!!!!!!!!!!

Oct. 23 Always a Divide

From my own divide comes the fact I do not like to use texting on my cell phone. I do not know why I just do not. My kids and wife do it all the time. It is not that I do not know how I just hate it for some reason. Maybe that is why there will always be a divide.

Digital Divide Argument

In the communities many feel there is a large digital Divide. Some of the older members of the community are afraid of the new technologies, while the middle aged members are learning how to adapt to the new technologies, while the younger ones are growing up with the technology in hand. I feel there is other factors involved in it such as socio-economics and rural vs urban that also cause a divide. What do you think?
I read an article that gives some interesting thoughts it is at: http://www.usdla.org/html/journal/FEB02_Issue/article.html
Please give me your thoughts on this issue!!!!
